Vijay Singh Takes the Lead at The BMW Championship
With heavy rain in the forecast at Crooked Stick Golf Club, play got started early and so did Vijay Singh. Once ranked number one, Singh is showing that he can still compete even at his age. Sing shot a 66 and has the clubhouse lead at the BMW Championship.
Singh had seven birdies and one bogey on the day is is 13-under. Singh’s only bogey came at the par-four 4th and is one shot ahead of Ryan Moore, Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
Lee Westwood also had a good round and is now in contention as well as he shot a seven-under 65.
There will be no cut at the BMW Championship with all 70 golfers in the elite field vying for one of 30 spots in the September 20-23 Tour Championship finale in Atlanta where the overall points winner gets a $10 million bonus.
