The Littlest Golfer

Social media is a way of connecting and sharing one’s passion and a way to interact on a level we were unable to even just a few years ago.

When I was on twitter one day, I came across this very unique company that specialized in golf clothing for our ‘little ones’. I was looking for golf clothes for my 2 ½ year old little girl and let me tell you, it is hard to find anything golf for toddlers…let alone girls. So in my search I found exactly what I was looking for and reached out to The Littlest Golfer (@Littlestgolfer).  In less than a day, the founder returned my inquiry and we connected immediately. I told him about my frustration with the difficulties in finding ‘good’ clothing for the tots and that I was with Bunkers Paradise and one of the many things we do is review golf products. Mr. Wilson insisted that he send out a care box immediately to my little Maddie and within two days the box arrived and the reviewing began.

Together Maddie and I opened the box to find an explosion of golf related items just perfect for Maddie.  Out of all the items which we will be discussing, the first thing Maddie’s eyes took to was the calming and cute ‘Sandy Plush Backpack’

As you can see, she wouldn’t put it down for a moment and it has become ‘our’ new BFF.

Who is The Littlest Golfer?

The Littlest Golfer invites young children to explore the world of golf. They make high quality golf apparel, accessories, toys, books and equipment for infants and children. The Littlest Golfer’s educational books are so impressive. They are designed to give the little ones the tools they need to succeed in golf and in life.  The dedication to the little ones is seen in every aspect of their product line. Every detail emphasizes the importance of helping our youngest golfers find their way around the course and at the same time learn to respect the game and look good doing it.

What does their product line look like and most importantly, how did Maddie like her new resources and golf gear?

The picture just shows a small portion of what The Littlest Golfer has to offer our newest and youngest players to the game. The Turtle you see is ‘Sandy’ and she is the Mascot for the girl’s line of products. This particular turtle was a backpack and little Maddie was overjoyed, “Mom, I love this! Can I keep her forever? What her name? I make her my own!” Sandy is her name and she is plush and cuddly and has a nice soft zippered pocket that my little one likes to keep her golf balls in. Sandy is really getting a workout in our home and on the course watching over Maddie from the golf cart!  Let’s just say that all the kiddos that see Sandy ask their parents for one just like it! I am quick to tell the parents the website before there is a total meltdown (toddlers like to be dramatic when they want something!)

Now lets talk golf apparel.

The Littlest Golfer (TLG) Players Performance Polo shirt is the optimal way to keep your little ones in comfort throughout the day on the links. The fit is roomy enough for great movement during the swing and keeps your pride and joy feeling ‘cool’ on the course. Maddie says, “Pink is my favorite and I like the turtle picture on the shirt. I look and feel great!”

Not only does the golf shirt allow our little linksters to get a full swing without hindrance, if they find a way to the bunker, play with a divot or roll around in the fairway, TLG selected a perfect material to wash and dry to get the ‘play stains’ out and looking as good as new. As a mom, thank you!!

Let’s move onto The Littlest Golfer Argyle socks, TLG ‘Sandy’ Knickers for girls, and ‘Sandy’ Caddy Hat that Maddie loves to wear on and off the course. The argyle socks feature ‘Putter’ the turtle Mascot and the blue and green print along with the light blue contrasting toe and heel make for a stunning look when paired with the adorable knickers. Maddie feels like a true champion and states with confidence, “I ROCK!!” Topping off her look is the ‘Sandy’ Caddy Hat which is an awesome and important part of any golfers outfit—it protects your child from the harmful rays of the sun. Maddie loves her caddy hat and sports it all around the house, outside playing and of course while she is teeing it up like a champion.

Now one of the most important part of the TLG product line—the equipment! Here is where we will find the early diamonds in the rough. TLG’s First Set is the perfect introduction to golf for our littlest Open Champions. The clubs were built exactly for the kids that will be using them. They developed a lightweight design to optimize and promote the proper swing. In other words, your little linkster is not trying to hit your old cut down steel shafted brick heavy clubs!!! What is even more impressive is the Littlest Grip Technology (LGT) that ensures the correct position of the hands on the grip every time.

The design of the clubs is exceptional with a slightly increased club loft so the balls get higher in the air. In addition, TLG includes foam practice balls making it much safer outdoor and indoor play. The ‘Sunday Bag’ is lightweight and provides and nice tool to learn how to carry a golf bag and has a nice roomy zippered side pouch where your little champion can keep extra balls, tees and snacks with them during their round.  In addition, there is an instructional DVD and alignment rod to help your kiddo learn the ropes and get the basic foundations of golf down early in their golf development.

Maddie found the clubs very easy to swing and the bad is very easy to carry her beloved new ‘toys’. She told me, “Mom, I feel good and just like you. Do I look like a golfer?” I replied, “Not only do you look like a golfer, you look like a golf champion.” She says, “Tanx mom (she isn’t even 3 yet), I wanna be just like you. Can we play every day?”

The final item to discuss for us today is ‘How Putter Learned his ABC’s’ Children’s Golf Book. Maddie and I read this at least 3-4 times a day and it is in the rotation every night!! She loves little Putter and is having fun learning her ABC’s with this very creative and colorful book. It features TLG’s Mascot turtles, Sandy and Putter, playing 18 holes of golf and every letter of the alphabet represents a key golf term along the way. For example, “A is for Ace, that’s what you will be…’C’ is for Caddie, and sometimes that’s me!” Maddie and I have so much fun with this book! (I actually think it would be good for some adults who play golf!!!) The vivid illustrations and cool rhymes keep Maddie engaged (that is key for a 2 ½ year old!!).

There are many more products that TLG offers our newest and fastest growing golfer community. The T-shirt is another great material that Maddie feels comfortable in. And I find with all the products I have on had the durability is second to none.

I am very impressed with every aspect of The Littlest golfer gear and equipment. I feel that every Pro Shop and Golf Shop should be carrying this line. I know that Maddie will be wearing The Littlest Golfer Gear for all the years she can as she grows with the game.
