Golf News: Brian Gay’s Putts, 7 Better Than Woods

Lost in the win by Tiger Woods at the WGC – Doral, and his career best of 100 putts in 72 holes, was was another incredible putting performance, 7 putts less than Woods total.

Brian Gay, long known to be one of the best putters (using Bettinardi Putters) on the PGA TOUR, had 93 putts at WGC-Doral, the lowest on TOUR since 2005.

Gay averaged 23.25 putts per round, the lowest tournament average since David Frost at the 2005 RBC Heritage (23.00, 92 putts).
