Nike Women’s Golf Clothing Review
Looking to stand out a bit on the course and feel like a champion, then turn to Nikegolf.com/golf or your nearest golf retailer and check out the women’s golf clothes; lots of colors and styles to select from and sport around the course while you shoot those low numbers.
Nike has worked exceptionally hard on their women’s line of golf clothing to get a better look and feel for their women’s golfers. There are many benefits to choosing to wear Nike from comfort, durability, detail and sweat that wicks away benefit (for those of us who ‘glisten’).
I had the fortune of Nike sending me a ‘way cool’ outfit. I sported the Nike Dot Collar Sleeveless Women’s golf polo, the Nike Convertible Skort and a Nike Performance Sweater.
Each article of clothing was well made with lots of care and felt wonderful. When you play golf you need to feel good with what you have on and I felt not only good but confident.
Let’s start in with each piece of clothing and give them a well deserved women’s golf clothing review.
THE LOOK
The Nike Dot Collar Sleeveless was a bright Dandelion with white accents on sleeves and button line. In addition, there was a cool subtle design of large dots on the collar that made this piece pop! The Modern Style with sharp trim detail made me look like a woman golfer ready to take down the course (and the men players!) The arm holes were a perfect size as to not show off ‘too much of me’ to my playing partners. The fold-over color with button placket finishes the look with class.
I was able to partner the Nike Dot Collar Sleeveless shirt with a fabulous Nike Convertible Grey and Pink Skort that has a two layer style to boot! This skort is interesting with shorts underneath and the skirt on top. It’s a great look without the bulkiness you may think combining the two. The skort has a perfectly set pink ribbon belt and trim to continue making the outfit as a whole pop from afar and while you play. If you miss hit a shot and end up in the woods, don’t fear as these awesome colors will bring the rescue crew to you and it’s not a bad thing as you will look great!! In addition, the skort has side and back pockets to store your tees and the unfortunate extra ball if needed.
Finally, my outfit was finished off with a Grey Nike Performance Sweater. I was a little apprehensive when I read the sweater was made with wool. My skin fights hard with wool!! However, I was pleasantly surprised to wear the sweater throughout the round without an itch or a removal. Its look was ‘Fab’ as it brought the entire outfit to a pinnacle of greatness—I looked like a pro golfer (ok, so maybe I am one) but you too will look like a pro!!!! It has nice womanly tapered look to not look like a huge sweatshirt, but more like just an extra layer of nothingness to finish the look.
THE LOOK SCORE: HIGH
DRI-FIT–This high-performance, microfiber, polyester fabric wicks sweat away from the body and moves it to the fabric surface, where it evaporates. As a result, Dri-FIT fabric helps you stay dry and comfortable.
THE FEEL
Ahhh, now this is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to fashion and golf (or better yet, this is where the clothing meets its owner!) I cannot say it enough that the feel of one’s clothing can really make or break a round. If it doesn’t feel good, then there is a strong chance you won’t feel good.
The Nike Dot Collar Sleeveless Polo has premium comfort from the collar to the base of the shirt. Dri-FIT fabric wicks away the sweat and lies upon your skin with classic comfort. The shirt is constructed with a racerback design that allows for full range of motion for optimal swing results. I really enjoyed how this shirt felt on my skin on the course and off. I finished the round and spent time in the grill and went shopping without worrying about looking out of place…hey, I looked like a fashion statement of class and elegance.
I loved the Nike Novelty Convertible Skort. Listen, I am a total geek when it comes to fashion and have played my career in shorts. When Nike sent me the skort, I was frightened. But I love it!! It fits and feels awesome if every way. The Two-layered feel of a skirt over the shorts made me feel confident that when I bent over to look at my putts or put a tee in the ground that I was covered completely. The short portion never ‘rode’ up and the skirt piece on top moved with the breath of the breeze with perfect harmony. The two snap closures with zip fly at waist allows for a very comfortable and secure fit. The material used in the design (100% polyester) is of wonderful comfort from Clubhouse to course to Clubhouse and home.
Finally, the Nike Performance Sweater, with its wool material, raised an eyebrow with me but quickly put my thoughts to rest as it was like putting on your most comfortable sweatshirt without the bulk. The fit was not too loose and not too tight (like the three bears) it was just right! It has a nice snug fit to it that made it comfy to wear to the course, take it off when it got too warm and easy to put right back on as the weather cooled down. This is a piece I will wear a lot even off the course.
THE FEEL SCORE: VERY HIGH
THE PERFORMANCE
Like anything and everything I write about, it can look and feel good, but can it perform to my expectations?!
The Nike Dot Collar Sleeveless Polo fits with comfort and a modern look. The rib armholes truly allow for a great full swing with total rotation. Not a thread in this shirt will hold you back from reaching your potential in your optimal swing. The fabric used too (Dri-Fit 87% polyester/13% spandex) keeps the shirt on you without the bottom ‘swinging up to the moon’ and riding up your front. I am not a fan of having to pull the shirt down after every swing!! So the combination of the shirts fabric and weight allows for confidence in the full swing.
This Nike Convertible Skort just rocks! Remember I mentioned I was a 100% short girl. Well, I am changing my tune a bit and will be adding in the skort to my repertoire of golf clothing choices. Not only did I look and feel great, the skort kept me confident in that anything private I have will stay private. J The modern rise fit that sits just below the waist is a nice feel that allows me to turn freely at the ball with my intense leg power. Nothing in the skort holds me back!!
Lastly, the Nike Performance Sweater was perfectly snug to allow me to make my full turn in my swing and rotate with power to the finish. There was no bulk there to get in the way and the sleeves did not deter my putting by being too long or bulky. In other words, I never had to keep adjusting the sleeves or tuck the front of the sweater in my short to get it out of the way of my putting; for me that is huge (don’t mess with my putting!). Its lightweight feel and comfort along with the material kept me perfectly warm on the chilly morning I played and the V-neck look gave me that openness I like in the front…what I call breathing room.
THE PERFORMANCE SCORE: VERY HIGH
Final thoughts:
Overall, I was quiet pleased with Nike’s Women’s Golf Clothing. From walking out my door all dressed for success on the course to the final putt, I was in comfort with a nice touch of a classy yet modern look.
Nike has worked diligently to keep up the pace with the growing women’s golf community and I am happy to say that they are spot on with their design team. Their hard work is paying off and they will see a nice spike in women reaching more often for Nike. Well done!
