This week’s stop takes us to Memphis and the St Jude Classic, where they will be battling for a total purse of $5,700,000 and a winners share of $1,008,000. Will we get to see a replication of Al “Skippy” Geiberger’s fabled 59 or another shocking 79 by one of the favorites? Only time will tell and they since it is a week before the US Open expect guys to be tweaking some clubs and styles to get ready.
Although Tiger, Kuchar and Rory are not here this week we still have a strong field led by Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Boo Weekly. I look to these three to be right at the top of the leader board but do not think they will be taking home the big prize. Billy Horschel is poised to regain his traction and visit the winners circle again while John Merrick, who has played well here the last couple of years, looks to turn a few heads.
