The wind is blowing, pin-placements are difficult, the greens are fast and every shot counts. It’s U.S. Open weekend and tempers are running high.
This was never more evident than when Jessica Korda and her caddie, Jason Gilroyed, got in a shouting match. This happens every weekend, but what made this argument different was the fact that Korda fired her caddie. She then put her boyfriend, Web.com tour player Johnny DelPetre on the bag. The change must’ve worked as Korda shot 40 on the front with her regular caddie, and shot 36 on the back with her boyfriend on the bag.
We will see how she finishes tomorrow. Jessica isn’t the only Korda sister playing this weekend. Her 14 year-old sister Nelly was the youngest person to make the cut this week. If she gets in a disagreement with her caddie, he may threaten to take away her phone, or send her to her room. Nelly’s dad Peter is on the bag for her this weekend.
