NEWS: Mizuno Golf Releases New MP-54 and MP-4 Irons

Ready, Set, Go!!! Run to the stores on Sept. 9, 2013 to get the latest in what Mizuno Golf is calling “traditional yet aggressive” with the new MP-54 and MP-4 irons.  These are not any run of the mill golf clubs.  From all accounts heard the new MP-54 and MP-4 irons are going make your old irons feel like your are hitting with a rock tied to the end of a stick.

The MP-54 features a players iron style size and shape, but with an added milled pocket cavity in the mid and long irons to improve launch angles.  The milled pocket removes an average of 16 grams that is repositioned to the blade’s center section in an effort to make the face react more consistently at impact, mimicking the feel in a traditional blade.  I’m thinking that is some pretty inventive stuff going on there from Mizuno.

The MP-4  is a classic muscleback blade but has a thicker center section that tapers as the irons get longer.  What Mizuno is trying to do with this is produce a longer and softer sense of impact.  Mizuno’s goal with the MP-4 is to create a more playable long iron by having a lower center of gravity while producing short irons with more mass.
We will have our hands on both of these models soon and can’t wait to share our thoughts.  Keep an eye for our full review coming soon.
