Rory McIlroy showed up to the PGA Championship with his long hair that he is normally sporting.  But when his Thursday tee time came up, the long hair was gone.

Why McIlroy decided to cut his hair I’m not sure of but whatever the case, it seemed to be helping throughout the first 9 holes as he was three under through9.  He did get two bogeys in a row after that to start the back 9 but then picked up another birdie before the weather delay.  McIlroy is -2 through 12 holes as of now.  Maybe Rory thinks by cutting his hair the Reverse Sampson effect will happen.
