Golf New: Tiger Woods Clinches Final Points | Team USA Wins Presidents Cup

There haven’t been many Presidents Cup tournaments where it ended with the International Team celebrating and this year wasn’t any different.  The International Team’s only victory was in 1998 in Australia with Peter Thomson as the Captain.

The last three Presidents Cup’s have ended with Tiger Woods clinching the final match and all three with Fred Couples as the captain.

“It was a team effort this whole week,” said Woods, who went 4-1 for the best record of any player. “We really played well to give ourselves a nice lead.”

Even after Tiger tweaked his back on the par-5 15th, Woods held on to beat Sterne and win the Presidents Cup for Team USA.  So after a week of rain, squirrels and “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” high fives it all ended happily for Team USA.
