It has been said that you cannot fit a square peg in round hole, well Cleveland Golf is attempting to prove that theory wrong. Cleveland Golf is introducing a newest putter on the market, The Smart Square Putter.

Design:
A mallet style putter with two white squares on the top for alignment set against a matte black finish, copolymer face insert and winn grip. The putter I tested has a heel shafted double bend shaft and measures 35”
Looks and Performance:
As someone who struggles with alignment and putting in general, setting the Smart Square behind the ball the putter sits square from address. I found the alignment squares surprisingly helpful. At 360grams the putter is relatively light, but well balanced.
I hit some putts from several distances and never to the same hole and every putt I hit ended up within a few inches of the hole and I was holing out putts from every distance. There is definitely a distinct feel and the ball pops off the face nicely. My current putter which is heavier seems to grab the ball. I miss hit a few putts catching the ball on the heel of the putter face and the ball maintained its line and speed. Being somewhat of a poor putter this was extremely positive feedback and a nice surprise which will help save me strokes on the green.
Last Thoughts:
If you struggle with alignment and miss the center of face of the face you want to give The Smart Square Putter a try. This design feature is not going away anytime soon, look for Cleveland Golf to make an impact with the Smart Square design putter.
