Hopkins Golf Custom Wedges Preview | Quick Look Review
When CEO Greg Hopkins retired after 16 from Cleveland/Srixon in 2012, I’m sure he was thinking of drinking Mai Thai’s on the beach and soaking up the sun. Then one night at the dinner table, retirement would change for Greg Hopkins. He decided to put his 30+ years of experience in the golf industry into forming his own company, Hopkins Golf.
To provide golfers with tour authentic, custom-built equipment factory direct at a fair price. For years, golfers have had a difficult – if not impossible — time acquiring tour authentic equipment. We’ve found a way to make it simple, by forming strategic manufacturing and distribution partnerships, and offering our equipment through HopkinsGolf.com
The idea behind Hopkins Golf is to provide custom-built wedges, at a reasonable price. You can buy a wedge from them with no customizations for $99. That’s a great price for a wedge. Also, when you purchase a wedge, you can buy them up to a 3-wedge package. Let’s take a look at the custom options.
Lofts:
48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, 60, 64
Finishes:
There are two finishes available for each loft: Tour Raw and Black Satin. All of their wedges are made from 8620 Carbon Steel, unchromed, for great feel and rusting purposes.
Grinds
There are six different custom grinds available. So depending on the type of grass you play on, there’s a grind for you. The website will suggest a grind according to the region you play in.
Grips:
Stock wedges include Lamkin Crossline grips, but you can change to any Lamkin 3GEN grip.
Personalization:
Custom personalization including engraving, stamping and custom colors. You can have any engraving that you want.
Recommended For:
I would recommend these wedges to anyone that is in the market for wedges. With the great price and the unlimited amount of customizations, you will definitely get what you are looking for at Hopkins Golf. I have a feeling that Hopkins Golf is going to be a big player in the wedge industry for a long time.
