Steven Bowditch Hangs on to Win the Valero Texas Open
Australian, Bowditch scored his first ever PGA Tour victory on Sunday after shooting a final round four over par, 76 to finish at eight under par on a very windy day in San Antonio, TX . This win means a lot for Bowditch because it sets him up to make his Masters debut next month. Bowditch moved from 155th to 26th in the race for the FedEx Cup with his win.
Will MacKenzie and Daniel Summerhays tied for second just one stroke back at seven under par. Matt Kuchar and Andrew Loupe tied fourth at six under par and were two shots back of Bowditch. A host of others tied for seventh at five under par which included; Brendon Todd, Jerry Kelly, Jim Furyk, and Zach Johnson. The average score on Sunday was 73.8 due to the winds that played havoc with the entire field at TPC San Antonio.
