Michelle Wie (68) and Lexi Thompson (69) are tied on top of the leaderboard at ten under par going into the final round of the first major of the year at the Dinah Shore course in Rancho Mirage, CA. Both are looking for their first major championship of their young careers.
Another youngster is right on their tail, 18 year old Charley Hull shot the round of the day at six under par, 66 on Saturday to move within two shot of the lead. Hull was impressive in her Euro Solheim cup matches last year and is looking to leap frog the two Americans on top of the leaderboard. Hull is tied with Friday’s co-leader Se Ri Pak at 8 under par after Pak shot a 71 on Saturday. Catriona Matthew (70) and Cristie Kerr (71) are four shots back at six under par. Chella Choi and Shanshan Feng are tied for seventh, five off the pace. Another half dozen golfers are tied at four under par with a legitimate chance to win the title. Sunday should be an interesting afternoon of play right until the end when we find out who will take the plunge into Poppies Pond. Stay right here for your final round results.
