Rose and Fire Headcovers Review: Innovative, Classic and Timeless
Rose and Fire Headcovers are a special breed. I know through all the years that I have been playing golf (not going there because you’ll guess my age) I have gone through many a headcover. Some have just worn away from taking them on and off, sitting on the damp ground while you hit or running over them with your cart. Some headcovers have actually disintegrated…not there is something you don’t see every day! And some just lose their shape, color and ability to protect your ‘golf children’–your clubs.
We were intrigued at Bunkers Paradise when Rose and Fire reached out to us to take on the task of giving their headcovers a real run for their money with the rigors of the ‘Kate Hughes Testing Center’. Being the chosen one, I wanted to give the covers a good test over a few days of playing casual golf and then tournament golf. The results are in. But first, let me tell you about where these unique and quality headcovers came to be.
Who is Rose and Fire
Our name comes from the founder and his family. “Rose” was the matriarchal designer, creating hats after World War II. Rose symbolizes classic timelessness, beauty, and a respect for tradition. “Fire” is a play on the founder’s last name and represents the strength and passion infused into everything we create.
Rose & Fire progresses the craft of building headcovers. We strive to create timeless pieces with modern construction and enhanced functionality. Rose & Fire is introducing golf to classic materials that, since their industrial origins, have become sophisticated enough for the course. Every piece is authentic and true to its roots, sewn with pride by skilled craftsmen using military-grade or vintage denim machines.
We are innovators, not followers. All of our leathers and materials are genuine and we know the difference between decoration and design. Each of our headcovers is carefully designed and made in California, USA with the best unique materials from around the world. ~ Mike Buchfuhrer, Designer, Founder and CEO
Mr. Buchfuhrer set out to follow his passion for quality and creating a product unlike any other through a level of sophistication in the design process utilizing military grade fabric that will stand the test of anything you throw at the headcovers.
He and I spoke at length on the phone and my reaction upon completing our conversation is that his passion in creating and developing a unique and durable headcover is unmatched and refreshing in today’s golf world.

LOOK/FEEL
If you are looking for something new and cool in the headcover world, look no further than Rose and Fire! The material used for each and ever headcover feels amazing with its durable fabric. I love the look because it stands out as unique and one of a kind. I got so many looks and questions about what I thought. All good!
Rose and Fire totally rocked the house the variety of looks. I myself am a huge fan of the Camo look for I feel like not only am I supporting our military, but I feel like I can play golf with my buddies in a very stealth and ‘undercover’ way. Seriously, every headcover brings a unique look and feels authentic. From the denim to the military grade fabric, you can tell you have purchased a product that will give you the look of a champion and the feel of security caring for your clubs.
I have been using various headcovers over the years and some just don’t do it for me in the look and feel department, but I am really impressed with Rose and Fire and plan to be a Rose and Fire lifer!
PERFORMANCE
What you have in Rose and Fire is a very durable product that will comfort your clubs from trunk to tee box and home again. I gave these headcovers a run for their money. The performance was spot on in my testing. It even surpassed a little test of its wind resistance. The wind was howling during a tournament round and other headcovers were making their way around the tee box. My Explorer Series Ballistic tamed the wind and gave her a piece of its mind. It stayed right where I put it, waving to my competitors headcovers as they flew to Kansas.
In all seriousness, each headcover performed perfectly having tested them over the course of a week in various conditions. I even ran them over with a cart to see how they did.
One thing I just love is the little zip pocket most of the Rose and Fire Headcovers have as a little extra. I am able to put tees in the pocket as well as ball markers. I even placed some money in the pockets so during my money match we could keep it live and pay as we go. Way cool.
In my humble estimation, I do believe these headcovers will stand the test of time and not deteriorate after just a few rounds regardless if you are playing in rain…or snow. I even think the sun will not damage these as much as others.
Well done Rose and Fire!
PROS/CONS
I see nothing but pros for the Rose and Fire Headcovers. I am looking forward to trying out the putter covers in the near future as I think I have found ‘the one’ for my prized possession–my flat stick.
