TaylorMade Golf Provides “Distance for All” for Military Golf Association
We love it when companies give back to those who have served and protected our freedom and our way of life. Here’s how TaylorMade Golf gave back this past weekend to the SMGA:
TaylorMade Golf Company brought “Distance for All” to Olney Golf Park this past Saturday (June 21), when it hosted a special clubfitting and golf instructional session for Salute Military Golf Association (SMGA) members.
In a unique clinic led by TaylorMade ambassador and renowned instructor Mike Malaska – ranked one of America’s 50 Greatest Golf Teachers and the 2011 PGA Teacher of the Year – more than 60 combat-wounded and injured veterans participated in driver fittings and an irons and short game clinic, each going home with their own custom-fit SLDR S driver. What they did not know is that following the event, SMGA was presented with a surprise check donation to assist with its services in helping veterans rehabilitate through golf.

The TaylorMade Tour Truck – the same million-dollar truck that travels to each PGA Tour event and fits TaylorMade Golf Tour Staff Professionals, was also be on-site, giving tours to participants – an opportunity normally reserved for Tour players.
Headquartered in the Washington, DC area, the SMGA’s mission is to provide rehabilitative golf experiences and family inclusive golf opportunities for post 9/11 wounded war veterans in an effort to improve the quality of life for these American heroes. TaylorMade’s new SLDR S driver provides “Distance for All” in four loft options and utilizes low and forward CG with higher loft options and lower ball spin to generate increased distance.
