Without losing a single’s match all day Sunday and finishing with a total of 15 points, Team Spain (Beatriz Recari, Azahara Munoz, Belen Mozo and Carlota Ciganda) won the International Crown Championship at the Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Recari, Ciganda, Mozo, and Munoz all finished off their competition before reaching the 18th green on Sunday’s single matches. Sweden finished second with 11 points with Korea and Japan tying for third with 10 points each.

With the sun setting and the thunder and lightning all around this beautiful golf course and another awesome tournament in the books, the LPGA will leave here with huge smiles on all their faces because the International Crown was all and more of what they envisioned. You can still hear the quartet of Spaniards singing in the hills of Maryland. Congrats to the ladies of Spain and to the LPGA for another brilliant tournament. I personally was happy to be part of this inaugural event and want to thank all who helped make this happen at “Bunkers Paradise”.
