U.S. Open: 10 Courses We’d Love to See Host Our Championship

With the USGA hosting the 115th U.S. Open at Chambers Bay for the first time this year, it got us thinking — what are some other incredible golf courses that we’d love to see host a U.S. Open? While there are surely dozens that could, here are 10 that we think would provide a stern test of golf while offering the pristine aesthetics and individual charms. Here’s our top-10 courses we’d love to see hos the U.S. Open:
10. Shadow Creek – North Las Vegas, Nevada

Some of the world’s top golf courses were born, others were made. Shadow Creek in Las Vegas was made. Costing nearly $50 million to build, every mound, every slope, every contour had to be sculpted by Tom Fazio and his team. The result was an annual member of Golf Digest’s Top-100 Courses list since it was finished. As far as hosting a U.S. Open? It probably never will, but we’d love to see it. Think about the prospect of a major championship in Sin City? It’s a golf gamblers dream. And you’ve got to figure — if it’s good enough for Michael Jordan to call home, it’s good enough for anyone else — and that includes the USGA.
