CBS Sports, David Feherty Fail to Reach Contract Agreement
Last Sunday at The Barclays, CBS Sports broadcast their final PGA Tour coverage of the season. With it, came the end of a 19 year relationship with David Feherty.
According to a report in the Sports Business Journal, Feherty and the network weren’t able to reach a contract agreement, thus ending the relationship between the two. The report also noted that the sides couldn’t agree on what Feherty’s role with the network going forward would be.
Feherty, who joined CBS in 1997 after retiring from professional golf, had a decent resume as a player before trading his sticks for a mic and headset.

Along with being a member of the European team at the 1991 Ryder Cup, Feherty also collected five European Tour wins and had three top-10 showings in major championships.
The early leader in the clubhouse for Feherty’s services appear to NBC — the parent company of Golf Channel, who already airs the Northern Irishman’s interview show, “Feherty.”
