The LPGA Announces 2018 Season Schedule
The LPGA has announced their schedule for 2018 and it’s filled with tons of exciting events to look forward to. The schedule includes 34 events and will span across 14 countries. Even more exciting, the prize money will be a record $68.75 million!
These 34 events also include three new events. The first new event is the HUGEL-JTBC Championship that will take place from April 19-22 in Los Angeles, California. The second new event is in San Francisco, California from April 26-29 and will take place at the Lake Merced Golf Club. The last new event will take place in China from October 18-21.
Here is what the LPGA Commissioner, Mike Whan, had to say about the schedule:
“Perhaps the most important aspect of our schedule is the consistency — continuing to deliver strong playing opportunities both in North America and around the world, while growing overall purse levels every year,” said LPGA Commissioner Mike Whan. “There is simply no better Tour opportunity in the world, when it comes to purses, global TV coverage or strength of field. It’s an exciting time in women’s golf, with the best players from every corner of the globe competing against each other in virtually every event.”
