Can Bubba Do It Again?
Bubba Watson holds a one shot lead after three rounds at the Genesis Open. He shot a 6-under 65 and is 10-under going into Sunday. He leads Patrick Cantlay (-9) by one stroke and Cameron Smith (-8), Kevin Na (-8), Graeme McDowell (-8) and Tony Finau (-8) by two strokes.
There is no surprise Bubba is in the lead. It is an even year and he has won at Riviera in 2014 and 2016. If history plays a factor, he is set for an even year three peat, just like the San Fransisco Giants in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
Bubba will have to hold of some stiff competition on Sunday. Patrick Cantlay has been playing well this year. He is an Southern California native and is hoping to pick up a win on a course he became familiar with while playing for UCLA.
Do not count out Justin Thomas, Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth, Xander Schauffele and Dustin Johnson. All of these players are in reach of catching Bubba. Dustin Johnson shot a 7-under 64 to put himself in a great spot to repeat. Things are a heating up in Tinseltown.
