Titleist Forged 755 Irons

In almost every Titleist review I do I am sure to restate Titleist’s reputation for being a club that leans towards the more experienced players.  However, with their new Forged 755 Irons they have finally released a set of forged cavity designed clubs that will be more accessible and usable for mid-handicapped level players.  With a strong performance on the course and a very pleasing design, the Titleist Forged 755 Irons are another set of clubs from Titleist that I enjoyed greatly.

Perhaps the most comparable club to the Titleist Forged 755 Irons is the 600 series iron previously released by Titleist.  The main differences between the two were mainly in size and weight, as the 755 has much more weight toward the heel and toe areas of the club.  This will benefit the user who seeks a little more weight towards the end of the clubface, and the added advantages that such a feature brings with it.  The 755 Irons also sport a different appearance from its predecessor, as it has been constructed with a much more classic design.  However, in terms of the actual performance on the course the Forged 755 Irons are pretty successful as well.

The biggest advantage that I noticed right away with the 755’s was the amount of forgiveness they offered me.  This is not Titleist’s general M.O., but it is something most golfers will appreciate.  Even on off-center hits I noticed that my results were much better than I was expecting once I hit the ball.  The trajectory of the ball is slightly high, but nothing too outlandish or out of control.  When taking a full swing the user will notice that the ball starts out high but almost never balloons, giving the user a much higher sense of control.  Overall the Titleist Forged 755 Irons are decent clubs, and may be some of the only irons Titleist makes that are acceptable for lower-skilled players.
